About STBD

The Services Transactions on Big Data (STBD), formerly the International Journal of Big Data (IJBD), is a refereed, international publication aiming to be a core resource providing leading technologies, development applications, empirical studies, and future trends in the field of Big Data. STBD's major topics include but not limited to architecture, modeling, development, deployment, analytics, optimization, outsourcing, delivery model, consulting, and solutions of big data.

Aiming to become a prestigious international journal in the field, STBD only considers extended versions of papers published in reputable related conferences. Sponsored by Services Society, the published STBD papers will be made accessible for easy of citation and knowledge sharing, in addition to paper copies. All published STBD papers will be promoted and recommended to potential authors of the future versions of related reputable conferences such as BigData, ICWS, SCC, CLOUD, SERVICES, and MS.

Mission

Big Data has become a valuable resource and mechanism for the practitioners and researchers to explore the value of data sets in all kinds of business scenarios and scentific investigations. New computing platforms such as cloud computing, mobile Internet, social network are driving the innovations of big data. From government initiative perspective, Obama Administration in United States launched "Big Data" initiative that announces $200 Million in new R&D investments on March 29, 2012. European Union also announced "Big Data at your service" on July 25, 2012. From industry perspective, IBM, SAP, Oracle, Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, and other leading software and internet service companies have also launched their own innovation initiatives around big data.

Dr. Liang-Jie (LJ) Zhang

Liang-Jie (LJ) Zhang is the Senior Vice President, Chief Technology Officer, and Director of Research at Kingdee International Software Group Company Limited, which is a public comapnay in Hong Kong Stock Market (0268). He was also a director of The Open Group from 2011 to 2012. Prior to joining Kingdee in 2010, he was a Research Staff Member and Program Manager of Application Architectures and Realization at IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center as well as the Chief Architect of Industrial Standards at IBM Software Group. Dr. Zhang has published more than 180 technical papers in journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings. He has 60 granted patents. Dr. Zhang received his Ph.D. on Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Control from Tsinghua University in 1996. He founded and chaired the IEEE Computer Society's Technical Committee on Services Computing from 2003 to 2011. He also chaired the Services Computing Professional Interest Community at IBM Research from 2004 to 2006. Dr. Zhang has served as the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Web Services Research since 2003 and was the founding Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Services Computing from 2008 to 2012. He was elected as an IEEE Fellow in 2011, and in the same year won the Technical Achievement Award" for pioneering contributions to Application Design Techniques in Services Computing" from the IEEE Computer Society. Dr. Zhang was elected as an ACM Distinguished Scientist in 2009. He is the founder and steering committee chair of ICWS, SCC, SERVICES, CLOUD, BigData, AIMS, ICCC, EDGE, and ICBC.

Associate Editor

Dr. Huan Chen

Huan Chen is a senior researcher at Kingdee International Software Group and research fellow at Chinese National Engineering Research Center on Supporting Software of Enterprise Internet Services. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Informatics at University College Dublin in 2013. He studied under Prof. Joao Marques-Silva, the world’s leading expert on the formal method and chief scientist of Science Foundation Ireland. During his Ph.D. study, his research interests were circuit verification, automatic testing and software quality control, with focus on application based on Boolean Satisfiability. He participated in the EU 7th Framework Programme COCONUT and EU 6th Framework Programme NOTOS. His research papers have been published in top-tier journals and conferences. He was awarded the CASL Ace Award. He was a senior R&D engineer at Western Digital Corp. from 2013 to 2014. After 2014, he worked on big data architecture at Kingdee International Software Group Company Limited. He is a member of CCF and CCF Task Force on Big Data.

Dr. Jing Zeng

Jing Zeng is a senior research fellow at Kingdee International Software Group and research fellow at Chinese National Engineering Research Center on Supporting Software of Enterprise Internet Services. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Informatics at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. During his Ph.D. study, his research interests were pervasive services and IoT services. He undertaken the reviewer of multiple top-tier journals, including FGCS, IEEE TETC, IEEE system journal, the journal of supercomputing, etc. His research papers have been published in top-tier journals and conferences including IEEE Transactions on emerging topics in computing, ACM Transaction on Embedded Computing Systems, ISPA, UIC, etc.
